Every piano is different.

What can I do for yours?

Piano maintenance is more than just tuning.

If your car’s brakes were going out, you wouldn’t just keep changing the oil hoping things would get better. Pianos are the same way. In order to truly stay in top performing condition, the piano needs more than just tuning.

There are three aspects of the piano that slowly get worse over time, which require their own services…

  • The piano’s pitch, which is fixed by tuning

  • The way the piano feels to play, which is improved through regulating

  • How bright or mellow the piano sounds, which can be modified through voicing

All of these are services I can offer in one appointment, and I will go to great lengths to customize the service for your piano’s specific needs. Scheduling a single full-service appointment saves time, money, and - most importantly - ensures you are getting the utmost care for your piano.

Each complete service appointment includes a free cleaning of the outside and inside of your piano (up to a $50 dollar value).

Complete Service Appointment

$250

For pianos that have been tuned or serviced recently.

$320

For pianos that have not been tuned or serviced recently and are more than 30 cents flat.

Don’t have the budget for a Complete Service Appointment? That’s okay.

I would be happy to come and simply tune your piano.

Piano Tuning

$140 - standard tuning
$210 - for pianos that are 30 cents flat or more

Upgrade your Complete Service Appointment with a full action regulation.

Piano regulation is a complicated process, and in each Complete Service Appointment, I will choose one aspect of regulating to focus on based on my observation as to what your piano needs the most.

Many pianos in the Tri-State have gone years since any regulating work has been done, and there are some that were only regulated once: when the piano was originally sold. This is sometimes as much as 50 years ago or more. This calls for an “overhaul” regulation to just get it up to standard playing condition.

This “overhaul” regulation can be achieved in four or five Complete Service Appointments, but if you want to get a leg up and restore your piano’s action to full working order, I can perform the entire regulating process in one sitting.

Repairs

For broken parts, strings, and other mishaps. Each repair is unique. I will quote a price once the full scope of the repair is assessed.

Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver System Installation

$900

The Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver is a high-tech, low maintenance humidity control system that maintains a constant, ideal humidity level. Humidity changes are the main reason pianos go out of tune (click for more info), and the Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver can prolong both the integrity of your tuning and the lifespan of the piano.

The quoted cost above includes the price of the system itself, the installation, and subsequent required tuning.

Services I Don’t Provide (Yet)

Piano Lessons

I can play the piano, but not well enough to be able to teach it.

Some great piano teachers I know:

Piano Moving

This is a service I plan to offer in the near future, but unfortunately I do not move pianos at this time.

To my knowledge, there are no local piano moving services. You may have luck with a regular furniture mover (just be diligent) or with a national piano moving service such as Modern Piano.

Piano Rebuilding

Rebuilding is an intensive, long-term process that, unfortunately, I do not have the tools or physical space to perform. I primarily serve as a field technician, and all the work I do must be able to be performed in the home.

This is a service I would love to eventually offer, but it is easily a few years down the line.

Services for Digital Pianos and Organs

From the outside, they may look similar to the piano, but digital keyboards and organs are actually totally different.

My expertise is in servicing the piano, so I am not able to service digital keyboards and organs at this time.

“I had my 60 year old piano tuned… It hadn’t been tuned for 20 years. Justin did a wonderful job with it, and it now sounds and plays great! He was prompt and very courteous. I will continue to have him come once a year.” - Sydonna H

“He took great care and did an exemplary job. Highly recommend him!” - Chris C
